Christina Gonzales and Aggie Sanchez
Christina Gonzales and Aggie Sanchez were each nominated separately as “Half of the Austin Tejano Music Coalition (ATMC) Dynamic Duo”. This award is granted to the full ATMC Dynamic Duo who are known for promoting and preserving Tejano Music not only in Austin but worldwide. Gonzales joined the Austin Tejano Coalition in 2006, Sanchez in 2009. Between them, they are responsible for all the following accomplishments: getting Tejano Music back on the airwaves in Austin through Encino Broadcasting; establishing Tejano Idol, a statewide search for future Tejano Music stars with the assistance of Freddie Records, Hacienda Records and Encino Broadcasting; starting the annual ATMC Christmas toy drive volunteering with the annual Brown Santa toy drive/fundraiser in cooperation with the Travis County Sherriff’s Office; and creating a development/management plan for the 2017 Tejano Heritage Celebration at the State Capitol celebrating the ATMC tenth anniversary.
